Reverse Osmosis in Water PurificationThe Advantages of Whole House Water FiltersWater Filters against Bottled WaterWhy We Choose Pure Water |
Well Water FiltersMost people today use water from public water sources where water purification systems are provided by the government. But still some of us rely on private wells. Authorities are not responsible for the quality of water from the wells so owners have to take care about the water by themselves. It’s important to test the well water for contaminants as the number of waterborne illnesses increases every year. To choose the right well water filter you need to know what type of contaminant spoils your water. According to the problem a corresponding water purification system can be chosen. If you notice that your water becomes “hard” (there’re deposits on kettles, pots, you need more energy to heat the water, water doesn’t want to react with soap and form foam) that may mean excess calcium. When you know the problem it’s easy to choose the water filter you need. To cope with hard water it’s reasonable to use water softener, reverse osmosis water filters, tankless water heaters. Another common problem caused by well water is red or dark staining of laundry and metallic taste of water. The underlying cause is the increased amount of iron in the water you use. Again water softeners are effective and whole-house iron reduction filters are also of great help. Excess manganese can result in black staining of laundry. Installing water softeners or whole-house iron reduction filters can remove manganese from the water. People often complain that well water smell rotten egg. If you have tested your water and the test have shown hydrogen sulfide presence in the water install whole-house iron reduction filter. Bad water affects your health. Common complaint is that water has laxative effect. This is possible when the amount of sulfates in the water is higher than a standard. Reverse osmosis filters work very effectively and can cope with excess sulfates. Sometimes contamination is so high that you can see it with your own eyes without any tests. Muddy, dirty water flows from the wells with excess sand, silt, dirt, clay or other sediments. The whole-house sediment filter is a good solution for the problem. If the contamination is not very high, point-of-use water filters can manage the situation. Generally a well water test should be taken annually. But in cases of emergency extra checking is necessary. Well water is tested when you move your industry into another area, when a baby is expected in the family and during the first months of baby’s life, and of course and infectious diseases are wide-spread in the area. Besides well water is usually tested in spring just after the thaw and after the heavy rains preceded by drought. |
